“Golden shot”, P-Shot and PRP: are they different treatments?
Three marketing names for roughly the same procedure. What PRP injections are, and what we know about them so far.

Adverts use names like the “golden shot”, the “virility shot” and the “P-Shot” as if they were different treatments. In reality these are marketing names that usually describe one procedure: platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections.
What is PRP?
A small amount of the patient’s blood is taken, the platelet-rich part is separated, and it is injected into the penis. The idea is that platelets carry growth factors that may help tissue and blood flow.
What do we know so far?
Research on PRP for erectile dysfunction is still developing, and it is not yet a routine, guideline-endorsed treatment. It is not a substitute for finding the cause of the problem.
Before any procedure
- Erectile dysfunction can be a sign of a vascular, hormonal or blood sugar problem
- An assessment finds the cause, and treatment should follow the cause, not the advert
- Ask about all the options, their expected results, their limits and their cost
