Many men put off seeing an andrologist until a problem becomes serious. Here are three signs that are worth getting checked without delay.

1. Ongoing pain or heaviness in the testicle

Especially if it appears or gets worse with standing or exertion, or has lasted a long time. A varicocele is sometimes the cause, but finding the cause needs an examination.

2. Difficulty conceiving

After a year of trying without a pregnancy, assessing the husband is a key part of finding the cause, usually starting with a semen analysis.

3. A difference in testicle size

Any noticeable change in the size or feel of one testicle deserves an examination to find out why.

Having one of these signs does not necessarily mean something serious, but an early diagnosis makes treatment easier and saves time.
